Jim Pearson started CMD nearly 30 years ago to be the regional leader in home technologies. Brian Hutcheson joined as his partner in 2023. Together with the rest of the amazing CMD team, they extend a welcome to past customers and new - see how CMD can make your life more secure, comfortable and entertaining.

Jim Pearson, founder and President of CMD, is a former NY resident who is a long time AV professional and a University of Florida graduate.

After graduation he returned to NY and began working at at the prestigious Institute of Audio Research in Greenwich Village, NYC. In the early 90’s, he started Creative Media Designs, an innovative home audio/video company.

In 1996, Jim returned to Florida and brought Creative Media Designs, Inc to South Florida. Creative Media Designs quickly became a client favorite as a result of it’s client focus and innovative home automation designs and installation.

A music and technology lover since childhood, Brian grew up in the interior design business, as his family created the Design Centers of The Americas in both Michigan and Florida. His background also includes years working in the music and entertainment industry, and an MBA from FAU. Brian met Jim Pearson while walking his dogs around their neighborhood. Enamored by Jim’s vision and the legacy he built as one of the original home technology experts in Florida, Brian saw a perfect opportunity to help carry CMD’s legacy into the next chapter.
